TO DEVELOP AN INTERNATIONAL ECO – TOURIST RESORT IN KEGALLE

Mission Statement

• ‘This overall development at Pinnawala has the opportunity to become a leading world wide attraction and benefit the macro and micro economies of the region in a way thus far not experienced in Sri Lanka.’

The Project and The Media

• The Elephant Orphanage boasts International television media coverage. This backbone coverage will provide the opportunity to sell each and every component part of the development to a worldwide audience.

The Concept

• Integration of the Elephant Orphanage and Dehiwala Zoo – The relocation of the Dehiwala Zoo and its transformation into a safari park.

The integration of these very popular attractions will significantly increase the number of foreign visitors to the area whilst reinforcing the number of local visitors to both.

Theme Park

• The Theme Park is likely to attract similar numbers to those visiting the Elephant Orphanage and Dehiwala Zoo.

International Sports Centre

• The International Sports Centre will incorporate facilities for Cricket, Hockey, Tennis and Bowls thus drawing in significant numbers of visitors in support of The Pinnawala Village.

Monkey Colonies
Islands within the Maha–Oya will be carefully designed and constructed to house and accommodate monkey colonies.
